Brendan Rodgers: Liverpool will not sell Raheem Sterling - even if he refuses new deal

The Liverpool boss has revealed he has had the 20-year-old at his house for talks as part of his attempt to convince the England star his future is at Anfield.
The 20-year-old has already snubbed a £100,000-a-week offer from the Reds and put talks on ice until the end of the season.

Sterling picks up £35,000-a-week in his current deal with the Merseyside club, which is set to run out in 2017.
Liverpool are desperate to hang on to Sterling, but owners Fenway Sports Group are prepared to hold Sterling to his existing contract if necessary.
FSG adopted a similar stance with Luis Suarez in the summer of 2013 when they played hardball with the Uruguayan before selling him a year later.
European giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have all been linked with Sterling along with Arsenal and Manchester City.
Rodgers said: "Raheem won't be going anywhere this summer, even if there's not a deal agreed.
"We've made that clear from the beginning and the owners are very much supportive of that.
"We're still pretty relaxed on it. It's one were the club will meet up again with Raheem's representatives."
Rodgers revealed that Sterling popped round to his pad for a general chat and reckons the youngster is now appears less stressed about his future.
"We've had a couple of good meetings," Rodgers explained. "He came to the house and had a good chat on a personal level as well.
"It's not just about the football side, it's also about his welfare because he's still young and he's been through a lot in the last couple of years.
"So I talked to him and I think he's in a good place at the moment. I think he looks a lot more relaxed now than he has done for a while."
Rodgers admits he reassured Sterling that he can win silverware at Liverpool - even though the Reds are set to miss out on the Champions League this season.
"Everyone wants to win trophies, everyone wants to play in the big competitions; but it's also important that you have the opportunity to do that," Rodgers added.
"So we'll just be reinforcing our stance that's been in place all the way along - that this is the best club for him at this moment where he's got the opportunity to play and to fight and be competitive."
Liverpool have also started contract negotiations with reserve keeper Brad Jones.
The 33-year-old's current deal expires next summer and the club are keen to tie him down for another year.
